Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026 · Empathia Learn Technologies Inc., Ontario, Canada

1. What Empathia Learn is

Empathia Learn is a communication-training simulation for paramedics, emergency responders, and paramedicine students. It is an educational tool. It is not a medical device, not clinical decision support, and not a source of medical advice. Nothing in a scenario or reflection should be treated as clinical guidance; your service's protocols, medical directives, and base hospital direction always govern real patient care.

2. Not therapy or counselling

Scenarios and reflections are educational and stay firmly in education. They are not therapy, counselling, or a mental-health service. Learners who find that a scenario lands close to a call they still carry are encouraged to step away at any point and use their peer-support and EAP resources; leaving is never recorded as a failure.

3. Licenses and access

Access is licensed annually to services, base hospitals, and college programs, scaled to roster size. Accounts are for the named learner only and may not be shared. Institutions are responsible for keeping their roster and coordinator access current.

4. Acceptable use

5. Intellectual property

The platform, scenario library, and the PRESENCE™ and EARS™ frameworks are the property of Empathia Learn Technologies Inc. PRESENCE™ and EARS™ are trademarks of Empathia Learn Technologies Inc.

6. Data

Our handling of learner data — what we collect, where it lives, and who can see it — is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the platform available and current, and the scenario library grows over time. We may update these terms as the program evolves; licensed institutions are notified of material changes.

8. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Questions: admin@empathialearn.com.
